When does the band rehearse?

Monday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning in September and ending after our  concert in May.

Where are rehearsals for this spring?

Lake Forest Middle School, 610 Kile Lake Rd., Cleveland

What size is the band?

Approximately 58 members, but there is no limit as long as the size doesn't disrupt balance.

Are there needs for instruments?

There is a need at this time for additional French horns, a baritone, and a baritone saxophone. With the exception of percussion instruments, band members must provide their own instrument.

Where and when are the concerts?

The Spring Concert will be FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH CLEVELAND  1275 Stuart Rd. Cleveland

Concerts are on Monday nights beginning at 7:00 p.m.  SEE OUR SCHEDULE. The spring patriotic concert is at the Cleveland Greenway Park.  The dress for concerts is black. The band presents five concerts a year performing more than fifty selections! 

How well do you need to play the be comfortable in the band?

Some music in each concert is selected to challenge very good players, but most music will be very managable for someone who was successful in their high school band. Everyone is expected to practice their music outside of rehearsals. As in any community band, there is a wide range of abilities and the experience level in our band ranges from high school to professional levels.

What is the age of the bandmembers?

Members in the current band range in age from 15 to 80, including students from area high schools land Cleveland State Community Concert. Younger and older players are welcome to join us!
